Getting Involved!

Have an idea to improve student life? Do you see something that could be changed to create a better environment here on the 7th floor? Have an inspiration for a fun event, or an opportunity for involvement in the wider community? Get involved in the student life of the department! Join the core group, attend events, take advantage of services, come to the SOS meetings and provide support to each other. Getting involved with the SOS, AECP, OISE and UT community beyond course work is probably one of the best ways to get the most possible out of your studies and have a direct influence on your own student life and experience. Our vibrant community offers numerous of options in terms of events, research, networking, community connections, social life, sports etc.

Want to get involved with student life in AECP? Here are a number of ways:

  • Contribute your ideas on this site! Come talk to us or drop us an email at sos@oise.utoronto.ca. It might be easier than you think!
  • If you are interested in contributing to some of the existing activities, go to contacts and email/talk to the responsible person(s) (they always welcome another pair of hands or point of view!)
  • Inquire about some of the open SOS positions below by sending and email to sos@oise.utoronto.ca

    Hello,
I’m a new student in the Community Development program and I’m interested in SOS. I’m not sure about my time lines right now, but am keen to be apart of all aspects of AECD, and helping affect evolution and development within the community. What is the Wellness series???

Is there an SOS information session???

    Give me a shout. Thanks.

Welcome to the department, Ken. Join us at the SOS Pre-orientation Orientation session on Monday, September 8, from 16:30 to 18:30 in the Peace Lounge (south end of the 7th floor). There will be lots of fun, information, food and drink, not to mention the opportunity to meet new friends and colleagues.

    Hi,

I will be starting the AECD program in September 2009 part time and was wondering how new students can get involved in SOS? Can we run for positions such as the above noted? The email adress provided was bouncing back to me.

    Thanks!
